Fractured Reality - Brass Band and Electronics (Download)

Fractured Reality was composed as the finale of the Flowers Band’s award-winning programme for the Brass in Concert championships in 2024. The work takes influence from the realm of video-game music, exploring traditional ideas of antiphonal effect alongside less-traditional methods of directional manipulation as an underlying musical aesthetic; alongside the inclusion of electronic ambient sounds to enhance the overall timbral capabilities of the ensemble.

The work is intended to be performed in a reasonably lively acoustic. Four electronic tracks are provided to enhance the sounds brass and percussion provide. The work can be performed without these, but should the stems be included, it is clearly indicated on the score where these should be inserted.
