Three Cathedrals is inspired by the famous Three Choirs Festival, an annual choral festival which celebrates its 300th Anniversary in 2015. The festivals location rotates triennially between the counties of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. Originally the three cathedral choirs were the primary focus but now it has now become a globally recognised and attended music festival. Each movement evokes a prominent feature of the cathedral it is about.
